Ikeolu Lagunju is a Professor of Paediatrics at the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan and a Consultant Paediatric Neurologist at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, Nigeria. She holds the Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria, Fellowship of the West African College of Physicians  and Fellowship of the Royal College of Paediatrics of Child Health, United Kingdom. She is a recipient of several international awards, which include the prestigious Association of Commonwealth Universities Fulton Fellowship, the Bernard D’Souza Award of the Child Neurology Society, the Bruce Schoenberg Award of the American Academy of Neurology. She pioneered the work on Transcranial Doppler ultrasonography for primary stroke prevention in Nigerian children with sickle cell disease. Her research interests focus on early child development, developmental disabilities, childhood epilepsies and stroke in SCD. She has over 75 publications in peer-reviewed journals and has made presentations at a number of international conferences.Ik
