Jocalyn Clark

Dr. Jocalyn Clark is an Executive Editor at The Lancet, where she leads the commentary section, handles peer review and Series/Commissions, and leads the journal’s upcoming theme issue #LancetWomen, which aims to advance women in science, medicine, and global health. From 2013-16 she was Executive Editor at icddr,b in Dhaka, Bangladesh, where she also trained doctors and scientists in writing and publication. Previously Jocalyn was Senior Editor at PLOS Medicine (2008-13) and Assistant Editor at The BMJ (2002-07). Since 2006 she has been adjunct Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Toronto, Canada. In 2013 was an academic resident at the Rockefeller Foundation’s Bellagio Center for her work on the (over) medicalization of global health. She holds a BSc in biochemistry and microbiology, and a MSc and PhD in public health sciences, the latter for which she was a Canadian Institutes of Health Research fellow at the University of Toronto.
