Dr. Lars Bode is Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Neonatology and the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (, the Larsson-Rosenquist Chair of Collaborative Human Milk Research, and Director of the Larsson-Rosenquist Foundation Mother-Milk-Infant Center of Research Excellence (LRF MoMI CoRE, at the University of California, San Diego.   Dr. Bode's research is dedicated to investigating human milk oligosaccharide (HMO) biosynthesis and functions with potential immediate and long-term benefits for infant health and development. As part of a network with collaborators from around the world, Dr. Bode's lab provides investigators with purified HMOs for in vitro and in vivo efficacy studies and also uses a high-throughput platform to analyze HMO composition in dozens of milk samples for smaller pilot studies or hundreds to thousands of milk samples for large national or multinational mother-infant cohort studies.
