Nigel Rollins

Dr. Nigel Rollins joined the Department of Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health of WHO in July 2008. He trained as a paediatrician in Belfast, Northern Ireland and his work focuses on interventions to improve child survival, growth and development. This includes implementation research related to the coverage and quality of infant feeding practices, improving linear growth of children and the prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV.  Prior to joining WHO, Dr Rollins was Professor and head of the Centre for Maternal and Child Health at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN), Durban, South Africa, where he lived and worked for 14 years.
