Olle Soder, MD, PhD, is Professor of Pediatrics and since 2006 Head of the Department of Women’s and Children’s Health, Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, Sweden. He is also Senior Clinical Consultant of Paediatric Endocrinology at Astrid Lindgren Children´s Hospital, Karolinska University Hospital. He is past President of the Swedish Paediatric Society 2012-2014. The present clinical and research focus of Professor Soder is the physiology and disorders of the reproductive system with main focus on the male gonad. He has also an interest in disorders of sex development, puberty and gender dysphoria in the youth. Other interests are the impact of endocrine disrupting compounds of environmental origin on the gonads and steroid synthesizing organs, and novel methods to preserve future fertility in prepubertal boys with gonadal injuries due to gonadotoxic cancer treatment. Professor Soder is the author of more than 200 original research papers listed on PubMed.
