Vanessa Cavallera

Dr. Cavallera is child neuropsychiatrist with a Master Degree in Public Health. She has extensive clinical experience working with children with neurological disabilities. Over the past few years she has been mainly working as a consultant for different UN agencies and NGOs focusing on early childhood development (ECD) and child mental health in developing and humanitarian contexts. With the World Health Organization she is currently managing and coordinating a  multi-country project on population-based assessment of  ECD as well contributing to the improving of the Congenital Anomalies/Birth Defect Surveillance in order to better monitor their impact on fetus and babies globally and create centres of excellence at country level. She is also consulting for the International Rescue Committe on content development of an ECD project in the middle East, mainly targeting Syrian refugees
